What God Says About Your Value

Many people spend their lives searching for value and significance. They look for acceptance through achievements, relationships, careers, possessions, or the approval of others. Yet even after gaining these things, many still feel empty and insecure. The reason is simple. True value cannot be found in temporary things. It can only be found in what God says about us.

The Bible teaches that our worth comes from God, not from the opinions of people. Human opinions change, but God’s truth remains forever. When we understand what God says about our value, we can live with confidence, peace, and purpose.

One of the first things God says about our value is that He created us intentionally. We are not accidents or mistakes. God formed each person with care and purpose.

Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

These verses remind us that God was involved in our creation from the very beginning. Every person is the result of God’s design. Even when we feel insignificant, God sees us as a masterpiece created by His hands.

God also says that we are deeply loved. His love is not based on our performance, talents, or accomplishments. He loves us because of who He is.

Jeremiah 31:3 says, “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

The word everlasting means that God’s love has no end. People may reject us, disappoint us, or abandon us, but God’s love remains constant. Knowing that we are loved by God gives us security that cannot be shaken by life’s circumstances.

Perhaps the greatest proof of our value is found at the cross. God demonstrated how much we matter to Him by sending His Son to die for our sins.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The sacrifice of Jesus reveals our worth in God’s eyes. If God was willing to give His Son for our salvation, then our lives have tremendous value to Him. The cross is evidence that God sees us as worth redeeming.

God also says that believers are His children. Through faith in Christ, we become part of God’s family.

1 John 3:1 says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.”

Being called a child of God is one of the highest privileges a person can receive. We are no longer strangers or outsiders. We belong to the Creator of the universe, and He cares for us as a loving Father.

God’s Word also teaches that we are chosen. Many people struggle with feelings of rejection, but God reminds believers that they have been selected for His purposes.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people.”

God has chosen His people to represent Him in the world. This truth gives us confidence because our value is rooted in His decision, not in human approval.

Another important truth is that God has a purpose for every life. No one was created without meaning. God has plans that extend far beyond what we can see.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

When we understand that God has a purpose for our lives, we stop measuring our value by worldly standards. Instead, we focus on fulfilling the calling He has placed upon us.

God also says that we are His workmanship. He is actively shaping and developing us for His glory.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.”

The word workmanship suggests a masterpiece crafted by a skilled artist. God is continually working in our lives, molding us into the people He wants us to become.

The enemy often tries to convince people that they are worthless, forgotten, or beyond redemption. But God’s Word tells a different story. God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He says you are loved with an everlasting love. He says you are chosen, redeemed, forgiven, and called His child. He says you have purpose and that your life matters.

When you believe what God says about your value, you no longer need to seek your identity in the approval of others. Your confidence comes from knowing that the Creator of heaven and earth loves you and has declared your worth. The opinions of people may change, but God’s truth never changes. Your value is secure because it is rooted in Him.
