Words To Live By For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who were lost. Luke 19:10 (NLT) I’m quite sure that each of us has lost hundreds of things throughout our lives. We probably don’t remember all of them and maybe don’t even care, but if you lost a treasure, it mattered greatly. We lost a dog years ago when she wandered off from our front yard while my husband worked in the flower beds one Sunday afternoon. When he realized that she was gone, we got in the car and started looking for her, but she was nowhere to be found. When day became night, we had to give up the search. The next day I made signs and set them out at the intersections that led out of our neighborhood onto busy streets. I also made handouts that I put in mailboxes, all the while looking carefully at the areas between houses and in the alleys. (These were the pre-ID chip days.) By the end of a week filled with searching and tears, I received a phone call from a neighbor whom I didn’t know who lived at the edge of one of those major streets surrounding our neighborhood.
